FineVu GX1000 – Price
FineVu GX100 is the cheapest among the competitors. The complete camera setup costs 299$, which is less than the high-end models of BlackVue and Thinkware. FineVu GX1000 – Unboxing
The unboxing experience is pretty good; I am really happy that the companies are increasingly emphasising recycling and using environmentally friendly packaging. FineVu GX1000 box is made out of recycled cardboard. Other than that, the package is very standard. Both camera modules have separate packages, a bag of adhesives and cable holders and the hardwire kit. It is a pretty basic package, and there is no cigar port connector.
Appearance and Build Quality
The FineVu GX1000 looks pretty good; it has a unique wedge shape design which might it big but looks relatively discrete when placed on the windshield. The camera is nice and can rotate to provide you with ideal angles. Overall, the build quality also feels pretty good. The main unit has two buttons on the front and one on top. A button on top is a multi-functional button allowing you to start recording or turning on the mic, and the second one is for Wi-Fi. The main module also has a dedicated toggle switch that turns off and on the camera without removing the wire, which is quite useful.

FineVu GX1000 – Features
FineVu is an excellent camera with some handy AI features and buttons to make video recording easy and better.
Firstly, it has a parking mode, the FineVu is calling Absolute Parking Mode, that detects possible impacts and informs you 10 seconds prior to the event. It is a valuable feature. Moreover, you can also record timelapse during the parking mode. The timelapse also puts the camera into power-saving mode and only consumes 0.06 watts on that.
Another useful feature is a little beep. When you are stuck in traffic, the mind can go anywhere; that’s why FineVu GX1000 has a beep that tells you when the car in front starts to move, so you will not have to face the honks from the cars behind. Moreover, the dashcam also tells you about the time after each hour.
Another great thing is 3 years warranty, unlike other manufacturers, FineVu GX1000 has a significantly bigger warranty period.
FineVu GX1000 – Installation
Installation of FineVu GX1000 is not simple as it is not a plug-and-play dashcam. It only has a hardwire kit, so you will have to put in some effort. Moreover, the front module is a little big, so finding the ideal position that doesn’t interfere with our vision is tricky.
Once you have found one, put it on the screen folio and paste the dashcam on top. Connect the hardwire kit or ask a professional to do that. Installing the rear module is not different; just paste the rear module, find a discrete way to attach the cable and connect it to the main unit.
FineVu GX1000 – Video Quality
Video quality is also a strong forte of FineVu GX1000, both rear and front module has the same image sensor, so you will not find any difference between the image quality. It has a Sony Starvis IMX 335 image sensor with 2K video resolution and 122° FOV. The field of view is a little less, which is a bit of a bummer, but you will not see any distorted edges.
The video is crisp, bright and detailed in the daytime; it reacts greatly to changing light intensities and has perfect autoexposure. It records everything in .AVI format. The camera records both front and rear videos in a single container which can only be separated in mobile apps or computer software.
During the night, the video quality is also stunning. It stores many more details, and the lights are well-handled, as you will not see any flares here. In terms of bitrate, FineVu GX1000 records video in 16mbps bitrate, which is relatively high for a 5MP camera.

Smartphone App
The smartphone app is good; it looks great but does not have a lot of functions. There are no settings to tune the picture and no cloud integration option, which Blackvue quite nicely integrates. Other than that, it provides easy access to all the videos and allows us to view them in a friendly manner.
