Earfun Air Pro 2 Review: Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds with ANC and Phenomenal Sound
Earfun Air Pro 2; a revamped version of the previous generation with better sound quality, construction and ANC. The underrated brand is providing top quality products at pretty affordable prices. My hopes are high for its second generation.
Let’s inspect this cool tech.
In a hurry, read this short overview stating the pros and cons of Earfun Air Pro 2.
- Good quality mid-range earbuds
- Great sound
- Beautiful and solid earbuds
- Long battery life
- Easy to pair
- Active noise cancellation is good.
- Charging case is weak
- No smartphone app
Earfun Air Pro 2 – Price
2021 has been an excellent year for earbuds. We have seen many products like Noting ear 1, Redmi Buds 3 Pro, which has a great design and exceptional performance. Moreover, we have big brands like Apple, Samsung, JBL launching their products. So, there is a diversity of products and prices.
Earfun Air Pro 2 is a mid-range device costing only 80$. The first generation was a great success because of its reasonable price, quality audio and beautiful design and quality. The second generation also shows promise with its affordable pricing. Moreover, I have seen many people praising the quality of the them.
Earfun Air Pro 2 – Unboxing
The unboxing experience is good; it does not have to do anything with the quality or performance of the earbud. But this shows how a company is presenting the product and how they are approaching their target audience.
The presentation is exceptional; the box is excellent. Significant highlights are mentioned on the back of the box. All the contents are nicely packed.
The small package houses a lot of products. In the box, we have the earbuds, 3 pairs of exchangeable ear tips (S, M, L), charging case, USB-C cable and user manual. It’s nice they have added extra ear tips because every ear is not the same.
Appearance and Build Quality
The appearance is super cool; I really like the design and build material of the earbuds. It has a glossy but non-slippery finish. The lightweight earbuds are very comfortable on the ears.
The shape of the human ear varies a lot; I always ask my friend to find a way to use particular or similar earbuds before making the buying decision. I have been using the earbuds for three weeks, and there were sessions when I wore them for hours and felt zero stress on my ear. Earfun Air Pro 2 are one of the most comfortable earbuds. Moreover, you can choose the ear tips of your ear size; the standard one perfectly fits my ear.
The charging case is visually appealing, but I have concerns with the build quality. The box looks very fragile since the moment I took it out of the box. The problem is with the box’s hinge, which is not strong, making the lid wobble. A weak charging case is not good because earbuds are incomplete without that.
- Driver: 10mm Titanium Composite Dynamic Drivers
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.2
- Range: 15 meters without obstacles
- Battery: 45mAh in each earbud and 500mAh in charging case
- Microphone: 6 built-in microphones
- Weight: 53 grams
- Waterproof: IPX5 waterproof
- ANC: Yes, up to 40db
Sound quality is supreme; they are among the few earbuds that made me feel like I am listening through headphones. The 10mm titanium drivers are great; sound is excellent even without fine-tuning. Moreover, the sound is flat, giving us a lot of room to tune the sound with an equalizer. Earfun Air Pro 2 has one of the biggest drivers, and big drivers produce great sound.
The microphone situation is pretty great; there are six built-in microphones, and the sound is admirable. The sound is not like six microphones, but we can clearly listen to every word I said during the test, here.
Active Noise Cancellation
Active noise cancellation is very effective. I wouldn’t say that it can stand against a crying baby, but it successfully masks the sound in subways and aeroplanes.
Earfun Air Pro 2 – Connectivity
It uses the latest Bluetooth V5.2. So, pairing with the smartphone is elementary. A great feature is that it automatically switches to pairing mode when the mobile is not connected.
Bluetooth’s range is 15 meters, and obstacles can obstruct range.
Earfun Air Pro 2 – Battery
Earfun Air Pro 2 has a 45mAh battery in each earbud, and the charging case has a 500mAh battery. The battery life is nice; I was able to get solid 5 hours of battery life at full volume and ANC always on. The claimed 7 hours of battery life is possible with medium sound and ANC off. But still, 5 hours is a solid number.
The case takes 2 hours to charge with the type-C connection, while it takes 3.5 hours to charge the case wirelessly.
Earfun Air Pro 2 – Drawbacks
Earfun Air Pro 2 is a great device; I loved the sound quality, ANC, build quality and much more about it. But there are two things that Earfun can enhance.
- They must add a Smartphone App; 2021 earbuds without smartphone apps are incomplete.
- They must improve the build quality of the charging case.
In the end, if you don’t care about the drawbacks, I’ve pointed to, and if sound quality is the top priority, with ANC being a must-have, that’s a super solid choice. I plan to keep them around because of the fantastic audio they have, and I really hope that someday Earfun will pleasantly surprise us with a smartphone app.
