This action camera V30 costs only $100, supports shooting native 4K footage with good image stabilization, Spare battery, external microphone support, lots of accessories.
Getting V30 is one of the best investments you can make for an action camera right now. The device can record anything in pretty much any format, including slow motion, sharp 4K, or dynamic 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Everything works as normal and smooth, with lots of accessories, decent battery life, around an hour of total usage per cycle if you are battery savvy.
Unboxing
Unboxing this action camera is like GoPro, with the significant difference that there are many accessories included with Compark V30. Unboxing reveals the waterproof case with the V30 model.
V30 is an excellent camera for shooting underwater because, besides the touch screen, the device can be navigated with buttons that the waterproof case allows.
We can find the two batteries arriving with the combo from many mounts and plates, and there is no need to look for spare batteries. You can also charge the battery with a power bank while shooting.
The protective film on display asks you to use a U3 card for more incredible listed transfer speeds. Even a good Class 10 card will be sufficient, considering the bitrate because, in 4K, it hardly exceeds 55-60mbit. But having a decent card is always better.
The camera has nothing unusual in terms of port – besides the microSD, there’s a micro USB port and a micro HDMI. With some wiring, you can well equip it for online streaming through a capture card.
Technical Specs and Performance
The touchscreen is quite responsive even with applied protective folio on top, and menus are easy to navigate on the device.
The device also supports multiple resolutions, exposure, and iso corrections to the picture controls. If you primarily record video in 30 FPS – you can get slow motion in 1080p at three times slower than the actual speed – because 90FPS is the maximum you get with full HD.
What surprised me a lot is the availability of something like the famous Timewarp feature by GoPro. There is some stabilization during timelapse. The most renowned shooting modes are available and very easy to be selected from the touch screen. It is pretty easy to review the recorded files within few moments.
The 4K footage is sharp, with good contrast and details up to a level that such a small sensor would allow, but do not expect DSLR grade because the size of the sensor here is a fraction of a full-frame sensor.
Hardware
Compark V30 is powered by a Hisilicon chipset and is supposed to be the same setup as Akaso V50x. Compark V30 has the same display, the same kind of features, slight differences in the menus. V30 has a 170-degree wide-angle lens, a 1350mah battery, very lightweight, and is quite well packed.
V30 comes with the mounting screw at the bottom, and you can use most accessories that are compatible with GoPro. The device accessories include even a remote control. The only missing, though, is an external microphone, which, as shown at the start, is supported, but so far, the only option with MicroUSB found is the Akaso external MIC. The Akaso external MIC is working fine and is probably the best mic we have ever tried on an action camera.
Final Verdict
As for pricing is considered, the camera provides excellent footage as compared with its competing models below $200. The device is not better than the latest GoPro and DJI Osmo action simply because Compark’s processing power is weaker.
Just as the Akaso V50X, Getting V30 is one of the best investments you can make for an action camera right now. The device can record anything in pretty much any format, including slow motion, sharp 4K, or dynamic 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Everything works as normal and smooth, with lots of accessories, decent battery life, around an hour of total usage per cycle if you are battery savvy.
The audio gets slightly out of sync; it Looks like the image stabilization contributes to that happening. There is no support for 4K at 60fps or 1080p at 120fps, or fantastic low light footage quality; stabilization is also far from the effectiveness on GoPro Hero 8.
You will get most of the essential features of 2020, including external mic support and the possibility for diving under the price of 100 dollars. Shortly, V30 is another brilliant affordable GoPro alternative.
And to the question – which is better – Akaso V50X or Campark V30 – let’s call them even.
